Health, sickness, recovery

A client’s health is the state of the body. A patient who is in good health is well and free of illness and or disease. Conversely, a patient who is not well is sick or ill.  When a patient returns to normal health after sickness or illness, we say that they have recovered.

Expressions and Examples 1: Health

I am in good health.

I am healthy.

I am well.

I am fit.

Expressions and Examples 2: Sickness

I am unhealthy.

My health is poor.

I am unwell.

I am not very well.

I am in poor health.

Expressions and Examples 3: Recovery

To get better: I am slowly getting better.

To get over an illness: I am getting over the flu.

To recover from: I recovered from the infection.

To make a complete recovery: I think you will make a complete recovery.

To get worse: I am getting worse.

To deteriorate: Your situation is deteriorating.

To relapse: You have had a relapse.
